Tip # 46 – Selecting the Right Steelhead Fly Rod
Fly Rod and Reel selection for great lakes steelhead can be looked at in a couple of different ways. When salmon are still in the rivers, you might choose an 9wt fly rod. When there are only steelhead left a 7wt Fly Rod should do you just fine for brown trout as well.

I have a Daiwa baitcaster with a 6’6 heavy Daiwa rod… The rod has Aluminum Oxide eyelets.
