Tip # 40 – Catching Pickeral – Walleye and Lake Trout Ice Fishing

We were out on Rabbit Lake in the Temagami Region of Ontario fishing the evening Walleye bite in mid February.  Oddly enough, between the walleye we were catching, we managed to hook into a couple of lake trout as well.  Watch the video below.

Often enough when we are out targeting one species, we’ll end up catching another. Sometimes this occurs in the strangest of places. Check out the videoto see what happens when you get yourself set up for the evening pickerel bite when the air pressure is dropping.

  1. Yesterday my son found my old fishing rod that I had forgotten about for years. I guess I got to preoccupied as the years went by to take the time to relax by the stream and reminisce those early evenings with grandpa. I did not understand it then but, there was a lot of wisdom shared in those days.
